OUR PROGRAMS

At our Farm Stand, we're dedicated to providing North Philly residents with a taste of fresh, free produce.

Join us every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 AM to 12 PM at 22nd and Cecil B. Moore, and on Saturdays from 12 PM to 2 PM at 24th and Berks. This is our way of ensuring that nutritious, organic goodness is within reach for our community.

VEGGIE SCRIPT

The Veggie Scripts provide a solution for individuals experiencing healthcare challenges like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. At local health centers, participants gain valuable nutrition education and receive a unique "prescription" signed by their healthcare provider. This prescription can then be redeemed at our produce stand, equipping individuals with the tools they need to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

THERAPEUTIC GARDENING PROGRAM

Our therapeutic gardening program is a continuous journey every Monday and Wednesday 9AM to 12PM at 24th and Berks, running June through November, welcoming anyone eager to embrace the therapeutic benefits of nature and gardening. Whether you're new to gardening or have a green thumb, you're welcome to join! Get your hands in the soil, learn new skills, and make new friends. We provide a light lunch.

THE TASTING STATION

Indulge in a culinary experience like no other at the Tasting Station Cafe in the heart of our garden. On the first and third Tuesdays of every month, from June through November, between 10 AM and 12 PM, savor chef-prepared, healthy, plant-based dishes that celebrate the harvest of our farm. We encourage you to bring your own container, adding an eco-friendly touch to your delicious meal. Join us to enjoy the flavors of sustainability and wellness in the lush surroundings of Sanctuary Farm.

VETERANS ENGAGEMENT

Our therapeutic gardening initiative is designed specifically for veterans in Philadelphia. In collaboration with the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Clinic, we offer veterans a secure, therapeutic space where they can find solace in nature and the farm. Here, they actively engage in farm activities, come together for meaningful conversations, share meals, acquire knowledge, and, above all, simply exist in the calming embrace of our natural haven.

SUMMER CAMP

Sanctuary Farm partners with Project HOME's Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Lab's Summer Camp Program to provide gardening lessons to students ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade. The children explored a range of fascinating topics, including germination, plant care, composting, the role of beneficial insects, and the importance of pollination.

GARDENING CLASS

Teaming up with the Friends of the Free Library, Sanctuary Farm is excited to present a FREE 4-part series of introductory gardening classes. Join us to explore the art of growing your vegetables. The topics covered in this series include:

  •  Fundamentals of plant requirements: soil, water, light, and nutrients
